COMMUNITY GROUPS

Find your community.

At the Grove, we are striving to let “community” not be merely another Christian buzzword. Rather, we know that we cannot grow into fully-devoted followers of Christ in isolation—even Christ Himself refused to walk alone. We believe that living in community means living life together according to biblical core values of community on a daily basis.

COMMUNITY CORE VALUES

1. Devote Daily

2. Pursue Relationally

3. Live Authentically

4. Counsel Biblically

5. Admonish Faithfully

6. Engage Missionally

Why is community so important?

Here at The Grove, we believe that living in Christ means living in community with one another. Community Groups are the heart of our church! Think of them as your extended family, where we laugh, learn, lift each other up, and carry each other’s burdens.

Together, we strive to embody the teachings of love and community that Jesus championed. These groups fuel our spiritual and personal growth, creating an environment where great conversations and lifelong friendships happen.

BEING IN A COMMUNITY GROUP

DOES NOT EQUAL

BEING IN COMMUNITY

How does it work?

You can’t meet once a month and expect to really experience the fullness of life together. Therefore, most of our Community Groups meet weekly or biweekly in various homes throughout the community. Our community groups have an average of about 8 people per group, and most groups connect by sitting around a table and sharing a meal together. You’ll also notice that there is a variety of ages, personalities, and life stages in all of our groups!

HOW TO JOIN A GROUP

After you complete Membership and discover all the ins and outs of the process, our Community Shepherds will help you look for:

  • An open Community Group that might be a good fit, or

  • A new formation group launched with all new members and led by an existing Community Shepherd for 90 days with the intention of helping them soon lead their own group.

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
