Genesis 8:20 “Then Noah built an altar to the Lord”
When Christ came, He became the ultimate sacrificial lamb, offered on the altar—the cross. He shed His blood and gave His life for us. So, when we look at altars in the Bible, we see them as metaphors and symbols for us, revealing many truths of the gospel.
Altars represent for us a place of faith, worship, surrender, and relationship with God.
Altars are places that become marker points of remembrance.
Altars are places where we remind ourselves of the covenant we have with God, and where He reminds us of that covenant.
Altars are places where we bring everything before Him.
Altars are places we need to visit frequently.
A spiritual altar represents a meeting place for a personal encounter with God, a place of dedication, consecration, covenant, and intercession.
